Integrity Roofing System
In order to protect your roof at the highest level, Integrity Roofing and Painting exceeds manufacturer’s requirements with our installation. Our Integrity Roofing System is a component based roof replacement system. Every damaged roof component is replaced and all integral roof components are replaced. Your roof is only as strong as the weakest component- it’s more than just the shingles. The following steps comprise the Integrity Roof System:
- INSTALL YARD SIGN
The sign needs to be installed before the adjuster meeting and all the way through the roof installation. It alerts the insurance adjuster to damage in the area. It confirms the right address for delivery drivers and installers. It serves as a “stop sign” to notify other roofers to avoid knocking on your door. - PRE-CONSTUCTION CHECKLIST
Confirm shingle selection and color. Review any potential upgrades. Implement change orders before materials are delivered. Your assigned roof manager will go over your house keeping duties and safety rules with you before we begin. - PERMITS
Integrity Roofing and Painting will pull the appropriate permits before the roof replacement begins. - DELIVER MATERIALS
Materials will be placed on the driveway near the garage unless other arrangements have been made. - INSPECTIONS
Integrity Roofing and Painting will schedule local enforcement inspections if required by governing building department. We make sure all building code inspections occur at the proper times. Our Master Certified Installer oversees the roof process to ensure code compliance. Our roof manager inspects to assure compliance with our INTEGRITY ROOF SYSTEM. - PROTECT THE LANDSAPING AND DECKING
When needed and logistically practical, we will cover landscaping, pools, and decking prior to the removal or the existing roof. - REMOVE OLD SHINGLES AND FELT PAPER
Integrity Roofing and Painting will tear off and haul off old shingles, valley metal, drip edge, and rubber boots. - FELT UNDERLAYMENT
All roof underlayments are to be installed horizontally. The felt underlayment is to go from one gable end to the other gable end, and it is not to be cut short. Along the bottom perimeter the felt paper will be installed over the metal eave. Along the rake edge the felt paper is installed before the metal eave is installed. If the felt underlayment is not installed properly water damage can occur. - ICE AND WATER SHIELD
This is a modified bitumen self adhering and self healing product designed to seal critical areas from water penetrations. It actually swells up and reseals itself around nail penetrations. We install it in all of our roof valleys, against exterior wall penetrations. - WINDSTORM STARTER STRIP (There is no comparison)
We upgrade your roof to a windstorm starter strip at no cost to you. The standard starter row of shingles is unzipped during high winds and blows off a roof. We do not use the standard 3-tab starter. - WALL ABUTMENTS
Integrity Roofing and Painting installs ice/water shield along walls, chimneys and skylights. - VALLEY FLASHING
We install ice/water shield or metal in the valleys. - PIPE FLASHING/VENT PIPES (RUBBER BOOTS, LEAD JACKS, 3 IN 1)
Integrity Roofing and Painting installs new rubber boots. - SHINGLES/ HAND NAILED ROOF SYSTEM
Integrity Roofing and Painting will install preselected shingles according to manufacturer’s instructions and code requirements. Our preference is to hand nail every asphalt shingle roof system. Nail guns overdrive nails resulting in less wind resistance. (We installed over 150 roofs along the Texas Gulf Coast prior to Hurricane Ike and lost no shingles. Hand nailing is the key to a proven Integrity Roof System!) - HIP AND RIDGE CAP
Enhance the appearance and wind coverage of your new roof with wind storm approved hip and ridge cap. - ROOF VENTILATION (Ridge vents, soffit vents, turbine vents….)
Proper roof ventilation leads to longevity of shingles, while improper roof ventilation decreases life expectancy. Manufacturers’ warranties are voided if the roof is not properly ventilated. This is the ideal time to upgrade your attic ventilation system. The insurance carrier does not pay for upgrades, so this would be an added expense.Indications that your attic might have a ventilation problem include wet or compressed insulation, rusty nails or rust spots that dripped onto your insulation, blackened or buckled sheathing, mold or mildew inside your attic, curling or cracking shingles, uneven snow melt, and icicles at the roof edge.Integrity Roofing and Painting suggests using a combination of intake and exhaust vents for maximum efficiency. Please see airvent.com for more information. - ROOF JACKS
All roof jacks come pre-painted or will be painted to match. - CLEAN UP
Our roof installers will continue to clean the yard while roof debris is being removed. Integrity Roofing and Painting will deposit debris into our container throughout the entire roof installation. A magnet will be used to pick up nails that are on the ground.
